Bold, graphic, and entirely handmade - the Zawadi Storage Basket brings a striking rhythm of ivory and black to any space. Woven by hand in Kariobangi, Nairobi, each horizontal band is built row by row from the fibers of the agave sisalana plant, hand-stripped and spun by artisans whose technique has been passed down through generations of women in the community.

The alternating stripe pattern is a departure from softer, tonal weaves -confident enough to stand alone as a sculptural floor piece, versatile enough to hold everything from throw blankets to firewood to a jungle of houseplants. Its structured, upright silhouette holds its shape beautifully, making it as suited to a designer's styled shelf as it is to everyday family life.

As each basket is entirely handmade, subtle variations in stripe width, tone, and shape are part of its story -no two are exactly alike.

Caring for Your Basket

• Lightly mist the interior and exterior with cool water -just enough to dampen, not saturate, the fibers.

• Let it rest for a few minutes, allowing the sisal to soften and become pliable.

• Gently press out any creases and coax the basket back into its rounded form, smoothing the rim as you go.

• Air dry on a protected, covered surface, away from direct sun, so the black dye sets fully without transferring.
